Today’s Great Falls Tribune reports on the results of yesterday’s pay negotiations between the schools and the teachers. Showing their commitment to our community, the Great Falls Public Schools teachers’ union has agreed to a pay freeze for the coming year.
In most past years, the Administration has followed the same pay as the teachers. GFPS employees are committed to the education of the youth in our community, and they are demonstrating that commitment here!
“I am in support of the levy. A good education is the foundation of our community, and we depend on all staff to get kids what they need: a good quality education. “
“The District has cut $4.6 million dollars over the last few years. It is not unreasonable what the district is asking and I support the levy.”
“My husband and I are business owners here in Great Falls and the cost of levy is a lot more to a business owner than a home owner. We have never considered not supporting schools and a proud supporters of the levy.”
“I am in support of schools and would never think of voting against the levy. The District provides great opportunities that make students well rounded.”
“ I feel that what schools are doing is terrific and I hope that music is not a place that the District will have to cut. I will keep supporting what the schools are doing.”

“I have been in Great Falls since 1954 and have never not voted for a levy. I also do not feel that administrators and teachers get paid too much. They all work very hard and continue to work to improve education so students can get out and get good jobs. I will continue to support GFPS and urge everyone to put signs in their yards in support of the levy.”

BASIC INFORMATION: The District is asking for $998,000 or 9.21 mills. This levy would cost a homeowner $15.71 per year on a home’s taxable market value of $100,000.
YOUR INFORMATION: Every property owner can figure out what the levy will cost for their property.
